QUAD Session Structure
Training, Then the Cauldron

Every QUAD session runs in two phases. The first 90 minutes builds skill through position-specific, high-rep training. Then athletes step into the Cauldron — 60 minutes of 4v4 competition under game-like pressure, tracked on a leaderboard every week.

Phase 1 · Training
90 min
Position-Specific Training
High-rep, focused reps by position — the touches that build the skill the Cauldron will test.
Phase 2 · The Cauldron
60 min
Cauldron 4v4 Competition
Two parts — individual rounds, then team work-up-court play. Detailed below.

The Cauldron
What Happens in the 60 Minutes
~2x
The ball contacts of standard 6v6 play. Small-sided formats like 4v4 put more reps on every athlete, every round — that's why the Cauldron is built around it.

Team Work-Up Courts

Why QUAD
Coaching through feedback and personal accountability

QUAD isn't about who's the most talented athlete in the room — it's about who shows up ready to work. Coaches give direct, specific feedback every session, and every athlete is held to the same standard: you get out what you put in.

3
Three-Cue Coaching
Every correction distilled to what actually moves the needle — no overcoaching, no noise.
?
Question-Led Instruction
Athletes learn to read the game, not just execute reps — coaches ask before they tell.
Whole Athlete, Whole Person
Development on the court is treated as inseparable from character off it.
👥
"We Before Me" Culture
Competitive individually in the Cauldron, but built on a team-first foundation.
📚
Ground-up curriculumIn Development
We're building a training progression designed to keep every athlete surrounded by others at or near their level, so the competition in the room always pushes them forward.
This is not a program athletes join. It's a gym they don't want to leave.
Open to any athlete, regardless of club status — QUAD isn't a tryout for a team, it's a program to grow in.
FAQ
Good to Know
Why QUAD?
We wanted to find a better way to support boys high school volleyball in the Valley — real training and real competition, without club being the only option, and without the commitment and expense that comes with it.
Is this just for boys?
QUAD is currently a boys program. We're exploring adding a girls QUAD for both High School and Middle School athletes — inquire to add yourself to the interest list.
Is BRUSA starting a boys club program?
No — we have no intention of starting a boys club. We'll continue to grow and build volleyball training in the Valley in a way that helps existing and incoming HS athletes, and adds to those already playing club elsewhere.
Do you have to be on a club team to play QUAD?
No. QUAD is open to any athlete regardless of club status. It's not a tryout and it's not tied to any club roster — it's a standalone training and competition program.
Is this a year-long commitment?
No. QUAD runs year-round in flexible blocks — Summer, Fall, and Winter — and you join one session at a time, not a season-long club commitment. There's no tournament travel involved — it's training and Cauldron competition at our Temecula facility.
Where is QUAD held, and how big are the groups?
26201 Ynez Rd #102, Temecula, CA 92591 — the BRUSA main facility, on our 4-court gym. Each session runs with a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 36 athletes.
